If your life were a movie, what would be your theme song?
Who hasn’t considered this question before? And if you haven’t, this episode is your chance to be a music supervisor for your own life’s hypothetical movie.
Christine is not trying to be funny or dark, or darkly funny. Just honest. From the opening bassline to the lyrics, even the French ones, Christine feels seen:
Balancing the psychopathy with buoyancy and heavy summer vibes, Christina’s theme song is Brenton Wood’s 1967 hit, “The Oogum Boogum Song.”
As Christine mentioned, “Oogum Boogum” has been featured in many TV shows and movies!
Wood passed away at 83 shortly after we recorded this episode. Here’s a tribute from NPR.
