See what we did there? However, it’s possible this catchy title alone may not give away the theme, which is “An Instrumental Song That Could Have Been A Radio Hit.” Sheesh, long enough for ya, Christina?
So what did the hosts come up with in response to this perplexing theme?
Christina defended her weird theme pick by sharing her support for the instrumental songs that deserve airplay. Her love of Khruangbin, Air, KOKOROKO, The Rugged Nuggets, Booker T. and the MGs (well, hey, at least they got some air play!) needs no words.
Her pick for the theme was the funky, cool La Femme D’argent, by French rockers Air from their album Moon Safari (1998).
Christina especially loved the use of both the Moog and the Korg MS-20 on this track. Let’s start a music nerd debate on how to pronounce both instruments. Talk amongst yourselves.
Christine switched up the vibe with her pick, “Homeless Wanderer” from Emahoy Tsegue Maryam Geubrou.
