Ever find yourself absolutely lost in the sauce just groovin’ to an incredible song… and you realize it’s been over 10 minutes of delectable jamming? Christine and Christina have. This week, we dive into the longest songs we actually enjoy listening to, and what we might do while listening to said long songs.
For Christina, German band Kraftwerk’s iconic 1974 song “Autobahn” from the album of the same name clocks in at a 22 minute 43 second banger that’s perfect for long road trips (or perhaps some light hauswerk if you catch our drift!). The pioneering electronic musicians want you to know, though, that they’re saying “Fahren fahren fahren”, (German for drive, drive, drive), not “fun fun fun,” you Beach Boy lover!
Christine picked Capablanca & T.Keeler’s 2011 track “No Hay Ritmo,” an electrifying club hit featuring vocals from bailaora (flamenco dancer) Ana Menjibar that’s filled with jaleos and the type of energy that makes you feel like you’re right there with the musicians. At 10 minutes and 55 seconds, it’s one of the longest songs Christine keeps going back to. ¡Toma!
