Restless

This week, we are restless! Maybe that’s every week. On edge and buzzing, we talk through the moods and ways of being that come with that jittery energy, and the songs, of course, that match, and sometimes surpass it.

Christine, our resident restless queen, selected this theme and subsequently one of Christina’s favorite songs since we started playing the game—”Ana No Duerme” by Argentine super stars Almendra from their 1969 self-titled debut album. To Christine, the song feels like a musical reflection of interrupted dreams or sleepless tension. Take a listen for yourself.

Christina’s restless pick comes from Brooklyn’s Parquet Courts, whose song “Master of My Craft” from their 2012/3 album “Light Up Gold” always gets her leg shaking in a not unpleasant way. Speaking of shaking, are we allowed to say “jimmy legs” these days? What does it even mean? OK, back to her pick—this one is guaranteed to make you shake, jump, and rattle your limbs when it comes on.

Because we tend to be on the restless side, we’d love to hear YOUR picks that convey nervous energy. So please share them on the Stereothematica Instagram! And if you’ve yet to subscribe, well… we can’t force you. But maybe you’ll cruise over to Apple PodcastsSpotify, or wherever you get your podcasts and smash the “subscribe” button to release that nervous energy.
