Do you have a personal motto? Should you? We think it’s fine. After all, nothing matters… but music. Join us this week as we dive into the songs we utilize as our personal mottos of sorts.
Christine selected this theme with a song that doubles as a mantra to keep her centered: “Soy Yo” by Bomba Estéreo from their 2015 album, Amanecer. Many thanks are in order to cousin Kristin for sharing this song with Christine back in 2019, and for all we know perhaps Bomba Estereo should be thanking Alaska y Dinarama for their song in a similar vein, “A Quién le Importa,” which we covered when we were dedicating songs to our enemies. And trust us… you need to watch this video.
Christina had to rewrite Stereothematica history to get her pick squared away for this episode. And don’t worry, we’ll explain in due time. But you should know it has the potential to create Christina/e chaos. I digress. Christina’s motto song is from none other than Charli XCX who wisely advises us not to think twice in her song “Twice” from the 2022 album Crash. Equal parts pop song and Buddhist life lesson, the song implores you to spend less time worrying and more time living in the moment. Amen, Charli.
While we aren’t fans of CTAs, we’d still love it if you followed us on Instagram, subscribed to our podcast on your favorite platform, and even told a friend (or an enemy) about this show. You (probably) won’t regret it!
