You ever feel like skipping ahead to see what’s in store in the next chapter? It’s understandable, but it’s probably best to let your next chapter unfold naturally. That’s what we’re doing this week–embracing the next chapter and the music we listen to as we mentally settle into a new path.
Christina picked this theme to honor Christine’s birthday in 2025 (what?!) but her next chapter song from Broadcast might not be so sweet. “Before We Begin” is from British band Broadcast’s 2003 album Haha Sound and it may well be about a failing relationship. Luckily, Christine and Christina’s friendship is as strong as ever so we’re not reading into the lines here! Just listening to the soothing sound of Trish Keenan’s beautiful voice. Maybe it’ll give you the push to enter your next chapter.
Christine, ever the mystery, chose Canned Heat’s “Going Up the Country” for her next chapter song. And why, you might ask, did she choose this song to signify a new chapter? Because when she got in her Chevy Caprice and popped in her Canned Heat cassette, the world was her oyster. It was just her and the PCH and her flower power stickers carving a beautiful path to freedom.
