Rediscovered

The feeling of rediscovering a song you once loved but forgot about is better than a cold breeze on a hot day. Well, almost. This week we dive into some once-forgotten jams and reconnect with the people we were when we originally discovered them. Join us on a trip down memory lane!

Christina picked this theme after attending a friend’s birthday weekend where she heard “Magnet” by NRBQ for the first time in over a decade. She immediately loved it and wanted to know more about it–who IS this band? Why is this song so elusive? WTF is an NRBQ? Don’t worry, we dive into all this and more.

Christine time traveled back to the year 2000 when she was donating to KCRW (as you should) and getting bad ass CDs in return. She was rewarded with Juan Manual by Plastilina Mosh, a CD with funk, disco, hip-hop, electronic, lounge, bossa nova, and psychedelic pop vibes. What’s not to love!? It also might have contributed to her very successful online date (shoutout Match.com! WE WILL accept sponsorship!).

If you listened all the way to the end, you’ll recall that we advise you to paint a picture this summer. While we’re not skilled artists… we appreciate the calm that creating art provides. It’s also a wonderful thing to do while listening to your favorite podcast 🙂

Please don’t hesitate to share a musical rediscovery with us on our Instagram page! And share this episode with a friend (or someone you’re online dating) to spread the good vibes.
