Yodel Ay Hee Hoo

Grab your cowboy hat, lederhosen, or Peppermint Patty. We’re gonna yodel this week!

Christine selected this theme originally as a way of pandering to Christina and her Southern roots, but it turns out she loved one particular yodeler more than she knew: Dolly Parton, the patron saint of Tennessee. She could sing, yodel, finger pick, cut a mean business deal, and win the world over with her charm (and those blessed dimples). It’s no wonder Christine wanted to share her Mule Skinner Blues (Blue Yodel No. 8).

Christina went for “yodel lite” thanks to Hank Williams and his “Lovesick Blues.” Must be something about being blue that just makes you wanna… yodel. She did a mini exploration of the song’s roots in Tin Pan Alley and lamented his life that ended too soon. Luckily, his influence on country music is great, and his voice echoes from generation to generation.

If you know us, you know we love to have you join in on the fun! Check out our Instagram where we always love to get your thematic picks. And maybe follow us so you can see behind the scenes footage of us filming.
